Sri Lanka is a year-round surfing destination with a wide range of excellent locations on both the east and southwest coast, each suitable at different times of the year according to the monsoon seasons.
May to October brings the exact surfing conditions to the east centered around Arugam Bay. Here the occasional reef and a profusion of long, sand points offer relatively unchallenging but consistent waves.
